The Dörken success story began in 1892, when the company made paints, varnishes, and antirust paints. In 2000, a new chapter was opened in the history of the paint and varnish division: CWS Lackfabrik GmbH & Co. KG and Ewald Dörken AG merged their house-paint divisions, thus pooling the strength of two great enterprises. Since 2004, CD-Color GmbH & Co. KG has been a fully-owned Dörken subsidiary.
